Twenty-Three

Photobucket

asides from passively diffusing myself through the matrix of routine, i've been enjoying using the Nikon FM. it is certainly very versatile, and a joy to bring wherever i go. the camera is much easier to handle than a TLR, and definitely cheaper for my daily pictures project. i don't actually plan to use this camera all the way through the year, but perhaps it provides me with some perspective as to how a Nikon camera operates - and it is a fine camera, to say the least. i should, however, diversify the methods of my taking of photographs to avoid boredom and stagnancy. in that sense, i will attempt to give the following a chance sometime in 2012:

  • Utilizing a macro/ring flash
  • Give the ol' Holga 120N a spin, albeit with a 35mm film adapter
  • Purchase a close up lens for the Flexaret VII
  • Purchase an ND8 filter for daytime long exposure photographs

unfortunately for me, one of my new year resolution was to not make any new camera or lens purchases for the entire year of 2012 and focus on what i own (or am able to borrow, i.e. the Nikon FM). at least i will be able to focus and improve on my "art", since i have been told to be lacking in that detail.

hopefully i will be able to give all four accessories a shot, although they all involve some sort of heavy expenditure. all of which will undoubtedly cause me to scale back on my books, vinyl, and toy purchases for the remainder of the year.
