it was 6PM when the four of us finally reached Melaka city. the influx of tourists into the city did not help with the massive traffic jam - what more with it being a public holiday. i only had roughly an hour and a half of daylight to take pictures with my Flexaret, which i fortunately managed to make full use of. unfortunately it wasn't too sunny anymore, so my mission of walking around with a pair of douchey aviator sunglasses went unaccomplished.
nevertheless, the ultimate goal of heading down to Melaka was to feast on the many sweet delicacies found in said historical city. and of course, for me to take as many portraiture photos of cute girls with the backdrop of an historical colonial city.
as night hits, i was to forced to stow away the Flexaret in exchange for the Canon EOS 500N. it is rather daunting when the only 120 films i have are only ISO160 films. but at least with the Canon, i had my trusty EF 35mm f/2.
this drive down to Melaka has been my third visit in the last 6 months. apparently if one wants to go on an impromptu roadtrip, the most accessible destination would by default be Melaka. it has history, food, trinkets, crowded marketplaces, even more food, and only a mere two hours drive from KL. i can't complain, since i wasn't doing much at home in the first place. and i wasn't the driver.
